So Walter and I met today concerning the church plant. We are putting together a 3 month plan of action that will take us into The Next Level. We are meeting again tomorrow morning and looking to outside guidence and counsel concerning the plant. Be praying for us as we look to establish a leadership group here and look for a few people to be a unbiased counsel for us.
It's strange to think that sometiing we've talked and wanted for so long is suddenly happening. But looking over the past year I can see so much coinciding to make this happen.

Unexpected announcement.
So the interim pastor of MBC called a meeting of all the men of the church and sent a personal invite to Walter and I to come. Both of our families haven't been attending MBC for a while now as we've been attending Redeemer Pres. While we and Walter have been in dialogue about a church plant since before we moved here. And over the past year it has been becoming more of a "sooner than later" discussion.
All of that being said, we have been asked by the interim pastor to plant a church out of MBC. And he unexpectedly announced it today to the church that they've asked us to do that. While Walter and I have yet to meet with him and discuss details, and this has been a desire of ours for a while, I guess this means we are planting a church. Oh boy.

Days like this.
It's at moments like this, when I look up to find I'm on the wrong train, fighting off a bad case of bronchitis, and just hospitalized one of our ferrets, that I wonder. Why did I get up this morningagain?

New Year...
So vacations over. Today my first day back to the grind. I was really hoping that I would have been able to start training again last week and then teaching this week, but alas the places I train at were closed just like my own studio. So i get the entire package today.
The holidays were good. It was super nice to spend time with my bride and to hang so much with friends. And sleep...man did I sleep.
Two observations: 1) somebody on the train with me smells like one of the guys I train with regularly. He always wears cologne on the mornings. Probably the only good smelling person there. 2) why do tv shows have to be so addictive? Tammy, Eric, Noemi, and I started watching Heros on Netflix. God bless Netflix. I really love technology.
Okay and another observation. This ones free, it's difficult sometimes to type efficiently on the train. So forgive my typos.
Well, it 9:49 in the morning and I'm headed uptown for training session nĂºmero 2. Two and a half more hours of toochie beatings. Then I teach a class at 3:15, private lesson at 6, class at 6:30, and private lesson at 7:15. Man I love Mondays.
Reply to this post with your Monday schedule so I'll have something to read too.
Peace in the Middle East,
Monday Man.

My friend Jeffro...
...is coming to see me and I'm waiting at the almost intolerable JFK airport for him.

And guess who's with me? That's right...my honeybunny

So at JFK you have to take a air tran to get to the train. It's $5 to get off the air tran into the train terminal. Who charges you to get off a ride? What if any amusement park did that? Six Flags or Wild Water and Wheels? "oh excuse me sir. That'll be $7.50 to get out of the splash pool." I'd never leave the Cliff Dive then. I'd just lay there and hold up the show. Eventually im sure that the lifeguard would let me up bc its bad for business Unfortunately it doesn't work that way here. I seriously doubt that the Air Transit Authority really cares about little me. I doubt my lack of $5 and verbal complaint counts for much. So yet again I'll bend over and take it like a man. Why? You ask. Is it bc of my honorable self attitude, or perhaps my moral sense of duty in supporting our local institutions?
Well I say no. I say it's bc that's the way life works. And there are some things, like the stink on poo, that you just can't change. No matter how good looking you are.

Bitterfully resigned,
Jonathan
