Ugh...

So one week of PT behind me. Tammy's got tons of school work but doing amazing in her classes. And no word on the HoC school contracts.

I'm laying in bed at 1:30 am, Tammys working, Gus is biting at his cage wanting to come out. He always wakes up when we go to bed. Oh the humanity.

Anyway, PT goes well I'm doing de-stabalized 3/4 pushups already but my therapist still tells me at least 3 weeks before light training. On the bright side my friend and I have been running which is seriously helping my cardio.

Tammy and I have decided that I should look into doing personal training a bit since I keep having people ask me about it and it's something I have enjoyed doing in the past. I just never enjoyed "selling" myself. So I'm praying it will happen naturally. :)

I've been looking at the bright side too about this. I at least have been able to take some home pressures off Tammy since she's so buy with school and work. I'll be able to really focus on training once I'm back at it. And we decided to start a small group soon. So we're excited.

Ie been wanting to do a book study/discussion on Mere Christianity for a while so this is a good time to start. Anyway. That's where we are. Just holding it down and getting ready for the cold we know is aroun the corner.

Sorry I've been absent but I tend not to blog or tweet wen I've got nothing going on. :)

Hugs to all.
Jonathan.

Welcome back.

Whoo! So life is settling back to normal. TNL is over, our end of season debreif is over, and now I find myself with lots of time on my hands. So I've taken up Twitter as an exercise in social networking and No I will not do facebook so don't ask. Tammy does though so look me up on the Twit if you like.

That being said today was my first day back on the mats and it felt really good even though I kept getting up from every match going "ok first march is over. I should stop since it's my first day back...no I can't have to at least do two." end of second match, "ok quit now, no shame. No wait if I at least do three, people will think I jut have somewhere to be when I quit. Won't look so bad." end of third match as I walk to get water and have my mouth guard half out, "yeah now I'm done. (looks across mat and sees friend with mo partner) Crap, ok last one." and that's time, training over water time and mat chat.

So there you go, 30 minutes of what my mind thinks betwen matches. And I'm trying to get back in shape after 2 months off for a fight on the 30th. I'm taking it regardless of if I'm ready. I'd just like to make a good showing. :)

Tammy's been working hard at school and work. Wr just had a great time at a water park in Jersey with the majority of the fab 8. And on that note my clothes need to be switched to the dryer (is that the right spelling of dryer..drier...whatever). So in way of introduction to those who may not know, here are the Fab 8:

Yours Truely of course (aka: that white couple from Sickles)

Ryan and Mallory Brill (aka: The Brills)

Noemi de la Cruz (aka: Noem's)

Juan Carlos Lagares (aka: JC aka: J aka: Carlos)

Eric Miranda (aka: EMurder aka: E)

Recent addition Sara Sandoval (aka: TBA)

So there it is. Thanks to Stevo we're starting a bi weekly poker night. 2 seats open. This is the lovely crew whom we spend most of our time and pretty much a day doesn't go by without us seeing at least some part of this octet. God has blessed us with a great group of people who love us here and have been able to become a part of our SC family. We love you guys.

Keep it classy world,
Jonathan

End of a season

Well I finished my instruction in the public school and these are my Yellow belts from the 8th grade class at IS 293.

Lord willing we will be back at that school next fall as well as a last chance school on 14th st downtown called Legacy.

The church plant meetings are going well. It's just tough to schedule them during the Next Level. We currently are working through our budget and are trying yo finalize a meeting with Tom and Devlin within the next week. Tom is leaving for a week to greece next week so pray we can make this happen.

Well I have to go downstairs and set up breakfast for these guys from Wheaton Church outside Chicago.

Thankfully written in a moment of peace while talking to a guy about a donkey.

Planes, trains, and automobiles

I just hopped on the A to go back home after a great weekend celebrating my friends Dru and Heather getting married in SC.

A 2 hour drive from Sumter to Charlotte, a 2 hour flight from CLT to JFK (and jet blue is amazing), and a 2 hour train ride from the butt end of Brooklyn to our home in Inwood, Manhattan. I like the air here better, less humidity and bugs. I also love the diversity of tourists, these hippies across from me, the Indian lady beside me and the Latino kids across the way. I've missed it. But that BEng did it was a tremendous celebration of life and joy and love in many ways.

It was great to see my friends from college, share a mess of laughs, video game blood, hillarious and risqué photos that are sure to damage the future careers of the doctors, PhD computer gurus, worship leaders, and others. :) some wonderful peeps I was reunited with were these guys.

And our wedding party was like this:

I cleaned up pretty good and shocked some people who hadn't seen me outside of a tux when I changed at the reception. But I looked good:

I had IHOP for breakfast 2xs. I recommend the stuffed French toast.

And that's about it. The next level starts Saturday. Our first intern arrives tomorrow. And I have a meeting with the dermetologist. So I will likely be absent for a while from this blog. But know that I love you all, especially when I get text messages from friends on the toilet. Now that's love.

Road weary hugs,
Jonathan

Post fight Wednesday

Yay! I have finally accomplihed my first competition and it was a blast. Unfortunately most of my friends that came to watch made it after I was already finished. The NYC Shootout went very quickly. I'll post videos when I'm home onthe compy, but I went 1 and 1. Great experience. And even better I get to eat again. Mmmm. Oatmeal, fruit, cheese, crackers, protein shake, coffee, and 2 bottles of H2O and it's only 11 o'clock.

So I'm already looking at another competition around the corner and looking forward to it. :)

In other news. Tammy starts back to school in the summer. I contacted a couple of seminaries but doubt I'll be starting this fall. I won't be participating on Redeemers Church Plant programs after further conversation with Mark Reynolds this past Friday.

Walter and I have been discussing the HoC program plans in light if that. Tammy and I have been looking at my schedule to see how my schedule will work out for fall. I'll still be working with the church plant however now I am dependent on the HoC for pay. I'm working to capitalize on time and class schedules along with my training. We'll see how it goes. At least the suns out today. :)

Keep it groovie.
Jonathan

Jibba Jab

When you plant a plant you don't force it to grow and beat it up. You care for the land and the soil.

Overnight adventure

So I'm upstate with Eric bc he's doing a physical test for a court officer job and it's past Albany. We found the town this thing is at and spent an hour trying to find a hotel. One was a super sketchy B&B straight from Misery or a Hitchcock film placed in the slums. Weird. The next one GPS took us to wasn't finished being built. So finally we ditched the stinkhole town and went one town over and found a real hotel and civilization. Which was refreshing. Street lights. Go figure.

So tomorrow is my fight and I'm pretty stoked. I'm sitting in a small partially closed down mall in Latham waiting to get a cut and shave for tomorrow. I usually do it myself but don't know how late I'll be getting back. Soo...I figure I'll treat myself to my first haircut in 3 or 4 years.

As for weight, I'm doing well. Haven't weighed today but was 1.7 lbs off yesterday. So I am currently living off protein bars and no water all day today.
